Pedro Neves de Castro holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Pará and is a specialist in State, Government, and Democracy from CLACSO. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Development Planning of the Humid Tropics at the Núcleo de Altos Estudos Amazônicos. His research is focused on development Ontologies, regional development, and the history of developmental thought, with a focus on the Amazon region. Currently, he is Head of the Sectoral Centre for Strategic Planning of the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment of Belém (SEMMA/PMB) and a member of the Organic Production Commission of the State of Pará (CPOrg-PA); he is Secretary-General of the Workers' Party - Belém; and Regional Coordinator of the Brazilian Association of Economists for Democracy (ABED), where he also coordinates its COP30 Monitoring Working Group.
